About us
At Playful Pathways, we specialize in play therapy for kids and teens ages 4 to 18, along with parent support that helps the whole family grow together. Founded by play therapist Emilee Greenman in September 2025, our practice was created to increase access to premium quality therapy for kids and teens and to raise the standard of care for young people in Michigan.
Located in Downtown Berkley, Playful Pathways serves families from Berkley, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Troy, and surrounding areas. Parents come to us seeking child therapy, teen therapy, ADHD therapy, and family support, and they discover a safe, clean, playful environment designed just for kids.
How we help families
Play therapy gives kids a safe practice world. In the playroom, with a caring therapist beside them, they can act out worries, try new ways of handling problems, and slowly retrain how their brain and body respond to stress. Over time, the changes we see in that space usually start to show up at home and school in how they talk about their feelings, how they handle disappointment, and how they relate to the people they love.
We mainly offer individual play therapy sessions and also provide parent coaching, group therapy, classes, and family sessions when additional layers of support are helpful. Every service is grounded in evidence based care, clear communication, and a child led approach that honors each child’s unique pace and personality.

What makes Playful Pathways different
We designed Playful Pathways to be a true safe space for kids. A place where they can be loud, messy, wiggly, and fully themselves without feeling like they are "too much." There is room to move, plenty of toys and games to explore, and therapists who are specially trained and genuinely passionate about stepping into a child’s world.
Our team brings a diverse set of strengths to support your child’s mental health. Founder Emilee Greenman holds a degree in American Sign Language and is Deaf-friendly, allowing us to serve kids in the Deaf community and to communicate directly with Deaf and hard-of-hearing parents. Celia is a registered yoga teacher who weaves body-focused practices and mindfulness into sessions to support emotional well-being.
We also specialize in working with kids and teens with ADHD. Our therapists help them feel understood rather than labeled and support them in building skills, channeling their energy, and experiencing success in ways that feel authentic to them.
Our values and team culture
Our work is guided by playfulness, safety, and a deep respect for each child’s voice. We want sessions to feel like one of the best hours of your child’s week filled with freedom, creativity, and genuine connection, while still grounded in serious, evidence-based therapeutic work.
As a team, we value collaboration, curiosity, and ongoing learning. We support one another, share ideas, and continually build our skills so that families receive thoughtful, consistent care from therapists who are both experienced and approachable.
Community roots and long term vision
We are excited to join and invest in the Berkley community through events, workshops for families, and training opportunities for caregivers and professionals. Our team looks forward to being part of downtown activities and partnering with local schools and businesses to support kids and families beyond the therapy room.
Over time, we hope to expand across multiple locations in order to increase access to high-level play therapy throughout Michigan. We are especially passionate about serving kids in foster care. If you’re caring for a child in foster care, please reach out so we can talk about adjusted pricing options.
