Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate for Play Therapy
At Playful Pathways we believe families should feel supported and informed every step of the way when seeking child or teen therapy. Whether you’re looking for a caring child therapist to help with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or emotional growth, we want the financial side of care to feel just as warm and transparent as the therapy itself.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate that clearly explains how much your play therapy services are expected to cost. Under federal law, providers offering kids mental health support must give patients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance benefits a written estimate of expected charges.
How It Works at Playful Pathways
- You can request your personalized Good Faith Estimate at any time, even before scheduling your first play therapy session.
- Fill out the webform at the bottom of our website or send us an Email and mention you would like to receive a Good Faith Estimate.
- We will reach out for a quick phone call to learn more about your situation, provide an accurate verbal estimate over the phone and follow it up with a written Good Faith Estimate sent via email.
- The estimate usually covers an initial evaluation plus our weekly play therapy and parent session rate for a 12 week period. If you would like it to show something different, please let us know.
- Please allow up to three business days for us to process and send the written estimate to you following the initial phone call.
Why We Share This Information
Every child’s journey in therapy is unique. The actual number of sessions and total cost may vary depending on your child’s needs and what feels right for your family.
If the total for the 12 weeks ends up being at least $400 more than the Good Faith Estimate (and it is not due to a major change in the agreed treatment plan), you have the right to start a patient-provider dispute resolution process through the federal government. We’re happy to guide you through that if it ever comes up.
